We returned home this past weekend from an incredible buying trip ~ we found so many treasures that are now starting to show up at our shop door. We arrived to 88˚ after having a couple snow adventure days. In the week we were gone, the magical shift in light this time of year had occurred, and the cacti had begun to bloom. It's the best time of year to be in Tucson. Friends in cold places ~ come visit!! A while ago, we were asked by The Shopkeepers to put together our favorite things about Tucson ~ here is a link to our recommendations. And to add a few that didn't make the final cut of the article as well as some new places that have opened up since then ~

Owl's Club- This bar opened a few months ago and it has quickly become one of our favorite bars in Tucson- live music almost every night in a charming historic building.

Time Market- a restaurant, bar, market ... almost everything you need in life. In fact, this is a daily stop for both of us- our daily grocery shopping with the best local, organic produce in town. I just ran into friends visiting from New York at Time and they said "it's like your little bodega" ... yes- exactly- that and more!

Exo- Read here. An amazing place for great coffee... and now also food. You will find breakfast served in corn husks, homemade granola, the best breakfast sandwiches +++ a focus on regional and healthy. It's fantastic.

Penca- A fun place to sit at the bar and have tacos or molé and drinks. The space is beautiful- small and cozy with a wall of windows facing the street.

Artifact Dance Project- If you're a dancer and want to take a class during your visit to Tucson, check out Artifact. They have drop in classes - ballet & modern. Amazing teachers and a warm atmosphere.

Tumacácori Mission- A beautiful place worthy of a day trip. Go here and also swing by Santa Cruz Chili Company where you can find all kinds of southwestern foods, cookbooks and a large selection of spices and herbs. In fact, while on this day trip, you should head to Nogales, Mexico for lunch at La Roca. It's a treasure... with delicious food and a beautiful atmosphere.

Hiking in Saguaro National Park East and West- This time of year especially! It is warm and flowers are at the very beginning stages of blooming. There are endless trails and endless beauty in these national parks.

There are so many wonderful places and things to do in Tucson... I could write a few pages more. We write lists for visitors often, so if you're in town and swing by, we are happy to share our favorite places with you :)
