Sonia Delaunay (1885-1979) is one of the original figures of the 20th century avant-garde. She criss crossed the boundaries of modern art and fashion & textile design and because of this wide scope across mediums, she has been somewhat cut off from modernism's canon. Although she might not be the most familiar name in the hisotry of avant-garde art, she has long been a classic point of reference in textile design and fashion history. This book is accompanies an exhibition at The Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. It shares Delaunay's artworks, fashion and textile designs as well as photographs of her world.
