We have done many projects with Kate Edmonson over the years, and we are thrilled to have her in Tucson for our group show tomorrow night! Kate's work takes many different turns… there's a constant element of the unexpected which is what we find so interesting. Many times her work evokes mystery and nostalgia which can be unsettling, yet beautiful. These images almost feel like stills from a wonderful old film. Kate's most recent work takes a look at a certain kind of life in the desert- one with golf carts, uniform palm trees, manicured lawns and mid century housing developments. What Kate is interested in is always her own… and this originality shows in her work. She currently lives in Toronto, Canada, but loves to spend as much time as she can in the desert (lucky us!). Come see the selection Kate has put together for our show this Friday!! To see more, you can go to Kate's website here.
Gabriel Flores is a wonderful photographer whose work we are so excited to share with you Friday night! His photographs tend to portray quiet, intimate moments in the midst of a bigger picture- that of the noise and movement of real life. We find ourselves wanting to jump into the scenes he has captured. Whether it's a breathtaking landscape or a portrait with a strong, fierce quality, Gabriel's work has a powerful connection to the environments of place and time. Newly back in the Southwest from New York, his more recent work has a fresh perspective on this beautiful part of the United States. We are lucky to have him here!! Gabriel has done work for Levi's, Nike and others. Come meet Gabriel and see the work he has put together for our group show this Friday evening. To see more, have a look at Gabriel's website here.
Krysta Jabczenski is one of the amazing photographers whose work we will have the honor of showing this coming Friday! Krysta captures striking images through her eye for color… we love the way some images have a combination of sun bleached elements with rich, full tones. Her work many times portrays the beauty of nature- both on its own and also interrupted, or enhanced by the human touch. Krysta lives in Tucson, AZ. She has done work for Wilder Quarterly, Gather Journal, Of The Afternoon and others. We love her work and can't wait to share (and see for ourselves!!) the selection of prints she has put together for this show. All work will be for sale the night of the event. The images above are from Krysta's site… you can go here to see more. We hope to see you Friday night!
A favorite song from Naïm's latest album Hear The Walls- "Seulement Toi". Come hear Naïm play next Friday, March 6, 6 to 9 pm at our evening show of photography and music. We'll have a tequila toast at 7 pm, right before the music starts :) This event will be at our new location before we move in- 760 South Stone. For more on Naïm, have a look at his website here.
