The Fold Magazine asked us a few questions about being a mother-daughter team, our interests and what we love most about all of it... if you would like to read the interview, you can see the article here. What an honor- thank you The Fold! Likely, you know this site, but if not it is a wonderful site to explore full of great interviews and inspiring stories :) Our friend Gabriel Flores took the photo above- he takes magnificent photos and you can follow him on instagram at @_gabrielflores.
We are one week away from out party and book signing with our friends from Astier de Villatte with their Paris guide- Ma Vie A Paris. This is the most delightful book, with 350 gold edged pages containing the city's most special spots <3 It's like your most interesting friends taking you to all the best places :) This is a must have guide and also makes a wonderful gift. How special would it be to give a signed copy as a gift for a birthday or Christmas? We hope we will see you next Saturday, June 1 from 5:30 to 8! And if you can't make it, they are available for preorder on our website - here. And if you would like to see another review, here is one from Vogue.
Our beautiful friend Nikki, wearing our red and white gingham peter pan shirt and a a little handkerchief (both these pieces are arriving this week!)... and holding a stunning peony flower by The Green Vase. We were using up a roll of black and white film to get to color... as we wanted to show the red and white along with the Astier de Villatte Ma Vie A Paris guides with their beautiful bright covers <3 As I was going through the film, I just thought to share this one photo as I thought it captured her well. We are so lucky to have the sweetest friends who model with us when they have the moments to. Nikki is an incredible knitter, she has an interest in all treasures Japanese... and she has the best style- mixing the most incredible vintage pieces with those by new designers. She brings so much to our lives <3 Thank you Nikki!
A cabinet full of Astier de Villatte pieces... including a tray of Antoinette incense holders. We find something intriguing about these en masse :) Each piece of Astier has its own special qualities. There are also the pieces from the John Derian + Astier de Villatte collaboration- in this photo- the floral plates and the horse plate hiding behind stacks of dishes on the bottom. We love the floral plates and think they would be beautiful on a wall or used as dishes. Mix them with all white table linens... or a gingham pattern and they would be so lovely!
Sharing just a few of our favorite pieces by Astier de Villatte. A small teapot, a vase, a small pitcher, a small bowl, a tiny (tiny) pitcher, two goblets, salad and soup pedestal bowls. We love the monochromatic, white dishes with different textiles. You can't go wrong with mixing Astier pieces with other pieces, textiles, glassware, etc. It makes a stunning table any way you put it together!
