Beautiful friends of ours - Heather and Molly. We are so lucky for their spirit, support and presence. Our shop would not be the same without their willingness and excitement for hopping in the car and running out to take some photos. We headed out to the desert the other day to capture a spectacular cloud speckled sky and some new pieces that are arriving at the shop for Spring. We will share more over the next couple of days :)
Spring is starting to roll in, yay! We will be continuing to add to our online shop as these special pieces arrive at the shop :) We have received these wonderful blue and white striped shirts and easy pants from Gallego Desportes. They are made of a beautiful linen, so nice and lightweight. Both are an easy fit. The pants hit at the true waist with and elastic waistband (these are the same style as the navy blue wool pair we had in the winter). They also have pockets. The shirt is oversized - the s/m fits most, but we have m/l as well. Shown with a hat we are working on as part of our small clothing line... hopefully it will be coming for Summer :)
A beautiful antique chemise de nuit with a Pip Squeak Chapeau boy shirt underneath, Maria la Rosa red socks and black patent Repettos. These socks bring so much to every ensemble - the colors are fantastic!
Beautiful pieces by Astier de VIllatte + John Derian - they make such wonderful gifts as they are so fun to receive! Did you know that each Astier piece has an AV stamp on the bottom and below that there are other initials. Those are the initials of the person who actually crafted that piece. Astier employs all Tibetan refugees, and this small team makes each piece by hand. Each craftsman stamps their initials to indicate the pieces they created. The beauty of Astier de Villatte is the feel of the hand that comes through the pieces - no two are alike, and the amazing craftsmen making them all have their own unique styles and differences. The scene in the workshop is quite special - a small group sitting around a couple of wood tables, creating each piece with all its intricacies and details. We visited a couple years ago and we will never forget the experience - the care and attention was felt in the air. When we receive our packages from Astier, the memories of the workshop become present again - and we know what it took to make everything in our package. We are then so happy to share it all with you!
We have just added a collection of chemises de nuit to our wardrobe section online. We have a longtime love for these beautiful pieces that were originally intended for nightwear. We wear them as dresses and love to layer them with a shirt or sweater underneath, socks and Repetto zizi's. They are so special - with all their beautiful details, the incredible quality of the linen and their easy shapes. We are always on the hunt for these and are happy to bring you this collection. And shown above is also the Maria la Rosa red socks with white repettos... this combination would look wonderful with a chemise de nuit :)
