Our friend Julie from Pod in Boston (@shop_pod on ig) wrote a post today about her trials and tribulations with nurturing a plant... messing up, doing better, messing up again. She says that after all she has been through with this plant, it has taught her a lot and it brings so much joy to her and her neighborhood. She says "Effort. Learning. Listening. Celebrating the achievements. Gleaning from the mistakes." We really resonated with what she said and thought to share it here. We will work every day to do what we know to do to support this hopefully historic moment of change. We are donating and showing up in person. This seems to be the best way for us right now - as we listen, learn, grow and go forward. Sending much love to you all.
In ballet we learn that our arms don't start at our shoulders, they extend from the core of our back. In dance, we move through the essence of who we are - our arms and our legs carrying us. Open arms, feet moving - all actions from the center of who we are. On a collective level, that core needs to be tended to, to be able to move in a direction of change, a direction of equality. We believe it is possible and we will do what we can to support the organizations doing the important work. We hope we can all take care of each other, love one another, make a beautiful dance out of this life.
Fun color for Summer! Beautiful hand crocheted bags from Milan and cotton polkadot scarves from France in a fantastic array of color combinations. We love these pieces with bright white for summer!
We have added some wonderful kitchen items to our online shop - home section. The enamel containers in the first photo are a favorite of ours for food storage. We have used them personally for years - they ended our search for the perfect food containers some time ago! We are just now bringing them to our online shop - we are very excited to make them available to you because we think you will love them as much as we do. They are made of enamel and the lids have a silicone seal -making them airtight. They stack, they nest... they are not bulky- they fit into small spaces in the fridge. We can't say enough good things about these. We use them every day! We also added a most perfect wooden spoon. This is made of olive wood which is a very hard, dense wood - making it stain and odor resistant. It is made in France. We also added some new brushes that are made in Japan. These are great for cleaning out bottles, jars, vases, or the corners of pots and pans. And lastly, we added the beeswax votive candles shown above. These burn for 15 hours each. They are made in Maine <3 We love the beauty in well made, useful things and are very happy to continue adding this type of thing to our online shop. We have been known to have long conversations in our shop about our favorite wash cloth or brush... it's amazing the difference quality makes!
