Centerpieces
How do you decorate your table? With the holidays coming up, we thought about this question and put together some ideas for making a pretty and inviting dining table. We started with Astier de Villatte, as these pieces can stand completely on their own and make your heart beat. But it's not just art, it's of course functional as well. Part of their beauty is that they are the most exquisite blank canvas for adding color, textures and shapes. We thought of making centerpieces with some of the different serving dishes, pedestal bowls, and three tiered stands. We love the idea of a centerpiece that can also be used as serving pieces- inviting everyone around the table to enjoy the beauty but also be able to taste what's in front of them. We found delicious crab apples, pomegranates, pears, lemons and grapefruit... and thought of lots of ways to put pieces together. Here are a few ideas :) More photos to come!

The most beautiful ribbon just arrived at the shop and we realized immediately that one of the colors is an exact match with the colors of Astier de Villatte's incense boxes. We didn't plan that, unless it was subconscious! Anyways, we love it when this sort of serendipitous matching happens :) We thought of using the ribbon to tie one of the saguaro ornaments on the Tucson incense... what a match made in heaven! It would make a wonderful hostess gift during Thanksgiving, or for a holiday gift. Sharing here all the colors of ribbon- we love the gold edging! These are made in Italy and each spool has 20 yards.
Holiday!
It is a fun time of year! The shop is beginning to feel very festive and conversations about what everyone is doing for the holidays are coming alive. We love sharing this time with everyone - helping to pick out gifts, planting paper whites and decorating the shop. We're sharing with you here some of the beautiful ornaments we have just put out! There are mushrooms, caviar, sardines, cows, saguaro cactus, cherries, figs, french fries, chickens... the list goes on :) These will not be in our online shop, but we are happy to ship as always. Stunning coats and jackets by Apunto b. have arrived at the shop! We are loving these pieces - all the textures and colors are incredibly beautiful and finely made. We love Apunto b.'s focus on fabrics - that in combination with their perfectly detailed simplicity makes for garments that exude such elegance. Shown above are a double breasted wool/linen coat in aubergine, a beautifully textured coat in black and dark blue, a wool jacket with a sweet small collar, and a cotton coat with a nice substantial weight.
